After installing the Windows 8 User Preview I joined the computer to my domain. But, I was not able to use most of the Metro apps due to Administrator restrictions. I understand this is a security feature but this is a test machine and I want to play with everything. So after making a registry… Read More »
I created a script to run the WSUS Cleanup automagically but found this from a freind on SpiceWorks. It’s a PowerShell script that works crazy well and is shorter then mine. The only change would be to line 7 where you need to type in your “SERVERNAME.DOMAIN.DOMAINSUFFUX” Then you can run it as a scheduled… Read More »
OK, now that you have Malwarebytes “free-edition” auto-magically updating lets set up an auto scan! 1. Create a scheduled task. 2. Add the /fullscan switch on the end Whats nice about this is it leaves up the scan results so you can see what (if anything)… Read More »

I know this might be kind of late for some of you but I just had to perform an upgrade to our SQL server as our last vendor now supports SQL 2005. But I ended up with a problem. When upgrading I got an error (-1). What the hell it that? It was totally non-descript.… Read More »
Here is a good fix. I recently upgraded to the UM175 WWAN device from Verizon but there was a problem.
After I activated the UM175 I would get an error:
A connection to the remote computer could not be established. You might need to change the network settings for this connection. For further assistance, click more info or search help and support center for this error.
***Now, I did not get an error code but after some research I discovered that many other people were getting error codes! Most of the computers with the errors were Dell and Lenovo machines.
I called support and they were no help at all, they told me that it is s problem with WinXP and deal with it myself.
